Outreach Committee

Helps communicate Valley Intergroup Service Council information to nonactive AA groups meeting in the TriValley area of Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton, and San Ramon.

Outreach Position Description

Outreach is responsible for visiting groups that meet within the area covered by the VSC, specifically those groups that are not currently active within VISC, keep groups informed about upcoming VISC activities, encourage participation in VISC, and provide most recent copy of the Secretary’s Handbook and Valley View newsletter.

What is an Intergroup representative?

An Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroup Representative serves as the link between their home group and the Valley Service Center. The Rep attends a monthly Intergroup meeting during which they’ll receive information, announcements, and service opportunities related to the Tri-Valley and Valley Service Center. The Rep can also bring their home group’s questions, concerns, and suggestions back to Intergroup. Each Rep helps ensure their group stays informed and connected to the wider AA community, supporting cooperation between groups and the Valley Service Center. While the minimum requirement is attending one meeting per month, the role may involve additional service depending on the needs and decisions of each Rep and their home group.
